You could find many travel posters, touristy items or handmade items that boasted the name of this country. Why not art depicting scenes from the main points of interest such as the Venetian Canal or the Coliseum.
France collections could boast the Eiffel Tower or quaint sins of little bakeries or eateries. Greek collections might include books of the great philosophers and everything referring to the Greek culture and the birthplace of civilization.

If you have ever gone into an antique store and checked some of the booths or displays, you could possibly see things arranged by color. It is an especially attractive way to display items of like types. For example there may be a knickknack collection or vases or even glassware.

You could use this same color idea in many other collectibles to just focus on a certain look. You could use this idea with porcelain dolls or quilts or vintage purses. The display potential is exciting and the same as collecting pottery or glass. A one color or two color impact is great when put together in enough quantity.
The first criteria for collecting large or small dolls are to determine what your available space is. Large, baby dolls take up lots of room. You usually can display large dolls in furniture and vignettes using real scenes and large chairs, cribs, and strollers for example or put dolls on shelves. If you place large dolls on shelves, the depth or space between shelves must be quite tall even when they are sitting.
Large bed dolls look great on the bed and if it is only one of two you wish to display that way, which looks great. Convenience is lost if every morning and night you must move an army of dolls form one place to another. Small dolls usually look lost on a bed.
On the other hand, when you display small dolls, they take up little room. You can place a small doll on a table, a tiny chair on a buffet or dressing table. Tiny dolls can fit into printers sized boxes since they need little space.
You can sit a small doll on an edge of a shelf so their legs hang over or perch it on the edge of potted plant. There are endless possibilities and so you may need to have less space since they could almost fit anywhere. Of course, you could also display them on shelves and if they are dressed model type dolls such as Gene or Barbie look best that way.
A large number of dolls in a carriage or crib look appealing, even smaller ones, especially if all of the same kind such as cloth dolls. Little dolls look cute displayed in baskets also.
These are just a few examples so you need to decide if you can choose one general size, if not, you will need lots of room ultimately.
